The patient's GP's postcode, if it is available to you, can be used as an alternative.
This could be because:
  1. The postcode has been entered incorrectly – try again ensuring the postcode is entered in the relevant format from the following list:
    1. EN1 1BA would be ***_*** (3 characters, 1 space, 3 characters)
    2. N9 7AY would be **_*** (2 characters, 1 space, 3 characters)
    3. SW12 8AD would be ****_*** (4 characters, 1 space, 3 characters)
  2. The patient is not from London and should be repatriated to a hospital near their home following the usual process.
  3. The patient's home is new and the postcode has not yet been added to the lookup database. Enter the patient's GP's postcode as an alternative.
