The patient's GP's postcode, if it is available to you, can be used as an alternative.
This could be because:

The postcode has been entered incorrectly – try again ensuring the postcode is entered in the relevant format from the following list:
- EN1 1BA would be ***_*** (3 characters, 1 space, 3 characters)
- N9 7AY would be **_*** (2 characters, 1 space, 3 characters)
- SW12 8AD would be ****_*** (4 characters, 1 space, 3 characters)
- The patient is not from London and should be repatriated to a hospital near their home following the usual process.
- The patient's home is new and the postcode has not yet been added to the lookup database. Enter the patient's GP's postcode as an alternative.
